But, in the early 1830s, Robert’s Brother Charles sends few leaves
of the Assam tea plant to the botanical garden in Calcutta for scientific
examination. There, it was finally identified as a variety of tea plant
and named as Camellia sinensis.

1840-1860, the cultivation and production of premium Assam tea were
engrossed by the Assam Company. It’s harvested twice, in a ‘first flush’ and
